Mombasa

Mombasa is the biggest city on the Kenyan coast and blends metropolitan bustle with beach calm. The aboriginal inhabitants of the island are the Mijikenda and the Swahili. The Mijikenda are black, whereas the Swahili are brown, a consequence of intermarriages between the early immigrants (Portuguese, Arabs, Omanis, Indians, and Chinese) on the island and the locals.
