Details

Explore the diverse wildlife of Tanzania on thrilling game drives in Selous and Mikumi, where you can witness the majestic lions, graceful giraffes, and elusive leopards. For a more immersive adventure, embark on a walking safari in Selous Game Reserve, allowing you to intimately connect with nature and encounter animals up close. Delve into the uncharted territories of Tanzania and uncover hidden gems that few have witnessed before. Moreover, don't miss the chance to observe hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat during a captivating boat trip within the vast expanse of Selous Game Reserve. As the sun sets over the enchanting landscapes of Tanzania, indulge in unforgettable safari experiences that will leave you in awe of nature's beauty.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and driven to the Selous Game Reserve with a packed lunch. The trek will take roughly five hours through Tanzania's most remote and unknown locations. You'll arrive to Selous Game Reserve in the afternoon, just in time for a boat safari to see hippos and crocodiles in their native environment. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided by Ngalawa Tented Camp.

After breakfast, you'll go on a full-day game drive through the Selous Game Reserve, which is teeming with animals such as buffalos, lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, impalas, warthogs, hippos, and crocodiles. You will be staying in Ngalawa Tented Camp on a full board basis. You will get the chance to see these wonderful creatures in their natural environment during the game drive.

After breakfast, you will travel on a two-to-three-hour walking safari before heading to Mikumi National Park through Morogoro, over the Uluguru Mountains, over rivers, and past tiny local towns and farms for a sunset wildlife drive in the park. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be either Mikumi Bush Camp or Mikumi Bandas (both located inside the park). The guide sometimes performs as well, costumed as a bushman in an authentic African costume. The guide's performance enhances the safari's immersive experience.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a full day of game watching in the park. The park's principal feature, along with the surrounding mountain ranges, is the Mikumi floodplain. Lions, elands, hartebeest, buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and elephants are frequent. Mikumi elephants are mostly grazers and do not harm trees. Dinner and sleep will be either Mikumi Bush Camp or Mikumi Bandas (both located inside the park).

You will see the dawn game watching early in the morning. After that, it's back to the lodge/camp for breakfast. You will enjoy a game drive in the late afternoon on your way back to Dar es Salaam. As the safari service comes to an end, you can reflect on the incredible experiences and memories made during your time in Tanzania's stunning wilderness.
